Jojoba oil is the liquid that comes from the seed of the jojoba plant, which is a shrub native to southern Arizona, southern California and north-western Mexico. Although called an oil, it is actually a liquid plant wax and has been used in folk medicine for many ailments.
The chemical structure of jojoba oil is different from that of other vegetable oils because it is a polyunsaturated wax. As a wax, jojoba oil is especially useful for protecting the skin, providing moisture control and soothing the skin.
Today jojoba is used to treat acne, psoriasis, sunburn and chapped skin. Our sebaceous glands are microscopic glands in our skin that secrete an oily or waxy matter called sebum. The texture and use of sebum is very similar to jojoba oil. As we age our sebaceous glands produce less sebum which is why we get dry skin and hair. Jojoba oil can play the role of sebum, moisturising our skin and hair when our body stops doing it naturally.
On the other hand, too much sebum, which happens during puberty or when hormone levels are high, can result in oily skin and acne but jojoba oil removes this buildup or excess oil too and keeps your skins oil levels balanced. Jojoba oil is noncomedogenic, meaning it doesn’t clog pores. It also works as a protectant and cleanser.

Our bottles are made from blue/black glass which gives optimal protection for the delicate essential oils and active plant base oils used in our serums. Closures for essential oils are caps with integral droppers to enable easy controlled usage.
We do not use boxes as even though they look lovely there is really no on-use for them and we can’t bare the waste! We do however, supply simple high quality, black, unbranded bags with our own swing tag attached. This is lovely if you are giving Angelico Serum as a gift. You can of course state in the NOTES BOX when checking out that you do not want the bag. If you do not specify, you will receive a bag.
We have to protect the glass during transit so we use acid free tissue paper in blue which looks beautiful. We can also add a handwritten card if you are sending as a gift. Simply mention the words you require in NOTES BOX when you check out.
