Benzoin Resin is a thick, sweet-smelling resin collected from trees in the Styrax family, mainly grown in parts of Southeast Asia. Because the pure resin is sticky and difficult to use, it’s often diluted to 50% in alcohol, making it easier to blend, apply, and enjoy.
Its aroma is warm, rich, sweet, and slightly vanilla-like — often described as comforting and nostalgic.
Benzoin feels like the aromatherapy version of a warm blanket — sweet, grounding, and comforting. It’s a wonderful first resin to explore because it bridges the worlds of perfumery, emotional wellness, and traditional botanical use all in one beautiful scent.
One of benzoin’s natural aromatic compounds is vanillin — the same molecule that gives vanilla its recognizable scent. That’s why benzoin often smells like warm vanilla dessert even though it comes from tree resin!
Historically, benzoin was also burned as incense in temples and used in old apothecaries as part of healing preparations.

DIRECTIONS.
6 drops in a bath or vaporisor or 5 drops diluted in 10ml of vegetable oil for massage.
For external use only. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not get in eyes. Flammable. Store in a cool place out of direct sunlight.

Our bottles are made from blue/black glass which gives optimal protection for the delicate essential oils and active plant base oils used in our serums. Closures for essential oils are caps with integral droppers to enable easy controlled usage.
We do not use boxes as even though they look lovely there is really no on-use for them and we can’t bare the waste! We do however, supply simple high quality, black, unbranded bags with our own swing tag attached. This is lovely if you are giving Angelico Serum as a gift. You can of course state in the NOTES BOX when checking out that you do not want the bag. If you do not specify, you will receive a bag.
We have to protect the glass during transit so we use acid free tissue paper in blue which looks beautiful. We can also add a handwritten card if you are sending as a gift. Simply mention the words you require in NOTES BOX when you check out.
