I always want to write about new things but Lavender just keeps rising to the top of my hit parade....
Last month we went to our friends' amazing Lavender Farm near Chichester. They open for a whole week each summer to welcome the public into their Lavender fields. It is spectacularly beautiful. We took our grandson and he loved running through the rows of brilliantly coloured lavender, riding on the tractors and playing on the hay bales. They have a wonderful range of Lavender products too. https://lordingtonlavender.co.uk
Someone very close to me rang me in a panic a few weeks ago because they had just poured a saucepan full of boiling hot water over their stomach whilst trying to drain it. She took off her T-shirt immediately, gently dabbed some cool water on it for relief and then FaceTimed me. Huge blisters were developing in front of my eyes. Now I’m not saying that you shouldn’t go straight to A&E when an accident like this happens but so sure am I about the power of essential oils and in this case, Lavender essential oil in particular, that I instinctively told her to get her Lavender Essential Oil and pour it neat onto this horrible burn.
There are many anecdotal stories about the healing power or Lavenders Essential Oil on burns but here is one that is hot off the press! We documented its progress with photos. Applying neat Lavender Essential Oil liberally to the burn three to four times a day, within three weeks all that was left was redness which will go over time. It went through the blister, scab and itching phases.
Once the scabs were dry (after about 10 days )I gave her some organic Chamomile Hydrosol ( Flower Water ) to spritz over it whenever she wanted to soothe it whilst continuing with the Lavender but only about once a day. Now that the burn is healed, she uses Angelico Serum for Sensitive Skinto promote regeneration and elasticity of the skin. This burn was obviously very painful but this would have been the case however it had of been treated. There is no denying that it healed in breakneck speed. I believe that a burn of this magnitude, when treated in the orthodox way, would never have healed so quickly, easily or cleanly. The redness will go over the next few weeks. I'll post an update in a future newsletter. For the curious amongst you, here are some pictures - if you are feeling a bit delicate, look away!

Rose Geranium is the rosier smelling version of Geranium essential oil. It used to always have the wordroseumat the end of its Latin name to distinguish one from the other but now the Latin names on Geranium essential oils is nearly always the same for both -pelargonium graveolens.
To keep my mind balanced and to retain some semblance of personal care I turned to essential oils as always and specifically to my Serum. I like to swap my Serum from time to time and ourSerum for Sensitive Skinis my current skin and soul saviour.
